The City of Light by AceOfKeys72 The City of Light by AceOfKeys72
Day Eighty Five

A little music to go with the piece [link]

Radiant Garden, one of my favorite worlds in the Kingdom Hearts series that has gone through so many transformations and changes throughout each game. A castle town that inspires the feeling this a world pure and full of light.

I decided to redraw some pieces I've done before to test my progress and skills. The last time I drew this piece was November 9th, 2011

EDIT: Link's been changed to a better song, check it out

It looks gorgeous, I love the birds eye perspective. It looks really solid like you could zoom in and walk on it. :)

It really was. I had to take the drawing piece by piece making sure I got all the detail. I had fun drawing the castle but.the surrounding city was difficult especially the walls and outer garden ;)

yeah but it has perspective: big when it's closer and shorter on the other side

thanks for saying so. I was just paying attention to the detail of the piece. I'm hoping to improve that aspect of my drawing since it would help when i'm creating my own pieces ;)

yup. but you could use some rules, a compass and a square to work on perspectives

i sometimes do that on my pics, for example, i make a character that's small and, for example, i can't draw the eye cause it's to small, and i'll draw it to big. so i draw the eye in an unused spot, make a grid on it, and shrink the grid with the use of the calculator and ruler, place it where i'll put the eye, and there you have it.

It helps a lot
